How did we end up here?

What began as a question turned into a pursuit of art and identity. This is where the story of BAVA begins.

BAVA was born out of the itch to do something different, the kind that comes when you are done with the mundane. I was working a tech job, stuck in the loop, when I realized I needed to create something that felt real. A mix of travel, art, and a few moments of deep introspection pushed me to break free from routine and chase something deeper.

That is when the idea hit, to start something that would let me express myself and connect with others chasing the same creative freedom. I did not want to build just another clothing brand. I wanted to build a movement, a place for misfits, outliers and rebels who see the world differently - or at least want to try doing that.

Clothing became my language. We spend so much of our lives deciding what to wear, it is as routine as choosing what to eat. Although, there are some people who have taken that out of their life.. I am looking at you Mark Zuckerberg.. but according to me style should not be about fitting in. I wanted to challenge that. BAVA became my way to create pieces that speak for those who would rather stand out, art you can wear, rooted in authenticity.

The First Drop: Rebel Collection

The Rebel Collection. 21 pieces. Inspired by Ayahuasca, marijuana and the idea of saying f*ck society. It was made for those who do not fit within boundaries, the ones who question, who create, who refuse to conform.

People questioned my choices, and they were meant to. But that only pushed me further. When our first drop sold out a few pieces, I realized I was not alone. That first drop proved there is a whole world of people who feel the same.

Finding What Works Through Passion

In 2024, we dropped two collections back-to-back:
1. Hip Hop Collection

The Hip Hop Collection was a tribute to legends like Biggie, Eminem and J. Cole, artists who shaped me. Some pieces even reached rappers like Siyaahi and UK artist Vankim, who wore them in his music video. That moment felt like validation, a creative high I had been chasing.

This is what BAVA stands for, giving artists something that represents them, not just something to wear.

2. Vest Collection

The Vest Collection drew from psychedelics, enlightenment and sensuality, a blend of inner and outer beauty. We went beyond graphic design, adding rivet stones on the neck and arms and hand shredding each piece. Each vest took over two hours to make.

Shout out to our designers Harshita and Deba for bringing the vision to life. We sold over 500 pieces in two months, proof that what is made with intention connects deeper than what is made for trends.

Curiosity?

2025 is about pushing boundaries even further. We are experimenting with stones, eyelids and launching hand beaded hats for the first time. We are channeling our chatak, a Hindi word that does not translate perfectly, but think flamboyant and unapologetically alive with the Entropy of Desire Collection

Pieces like the Santa Muerte hoodie explore the other side of the coin, the dark that is often misunderstood. It is about wisdom through contrast, beauty through rebellion.

We are also expanding to Melbourne and Toronto, collaborating with more international artists who share our mission to bring art back, to stay real and to build a community where creativity thrives without permission.

BAVA is not just a clothing brand, it is an artist collective, a creative rebellion and a reminder that style means nothing without soul.

If you feel that spark too, reach out. We are always open to collaborations, ideas and growing this community together.
